Hello!
What’s new on LinkedIn?
Last week’s stats from Microsoft (who own LinkedIn) gave us some mind-blowing numbers!
🤯 1.5 MILLION pieces of content shared EVERY MINUTE!
🎥 Video is BOOMING on LinkedIn, up 34% year on year
🤝 13K+ connections made EVERY MINUTE!
*📚 138 hours of learning consumed EVERY MINUTE!
There are now over 184,000 newsletters now hosted on LinkedIn and engagement is up 47% in the past year.
LinkedIn is expanding its sponsored newsletter program to include user-generated content on the platform. This will allow brands to put their branding on popular newsletters created by thought leaders in their niche.
LinkedIn is also introducing a new “Lead Generation” objective for sponsored newsletters, which will allow brands to gate their content with a CTA button, this could be a good option for brands targeting specific audiences.
If you don’t yet have a LinkedIn newsletter, what are you waiting for?
5 reasons why you should start your LinkedIn newsletter
1.Enhanced Audience Reach and Engagement
LinkedIn newsletters allow business owners to reach a wider audience compared with standard posts. When a newsletter is published, it is not only visible in the LinkedIn feed but also sent directly to subscribers' email inboxes. This dual notification system, via LinkedIn and email, significantly increases the likelihood that subscribers will see and engage with the content, as many users check their email more frequently than their LinkedIn feed.
2. Easy Subscriber Growth
LinkedIn facilitates subscriber growth by automatically suggesting the newsletter to users who follow the business's LinkedIn page. This feature helps you gain initial subscribers without extensive marketing efforts. Once users subscribe, they receive notifications whenever a new edition is published, further encouraging engagement.
3. Consistent Communication
Regularly publishing a newsletter helps maintain a consistent line of communication with your audience. This rhythm of content delivery keeps the business top-of-mind for subscribers, fostering a stronger relationship over time. The ability to provide valuable insights and updates in a structured format enhances your visibility and authority in your niche.
4. Visual Storytelling and Content Variety
LinkedIn newsletters allow for better control over visual storytelling. Unlike standard posts, newsletters can incorporate various media formats, including images, videos, and links, making it easier to present information in an engaging way. This flexibility can lead to higher engagement rates as subscribers appreciate diverse content formats
5. Building Trust and Authority
By consistently delivering valuable content through newsletters, you can establish yourself as thought leader in your industry. This depth of content allows for comprehensive discussions on relevant topics, helping to build trust and credibility with your audience. Readers often perceive newsletters as more personal and insightful compared to typical posts, enhancing the connection between the business and its subscribers.
